The Faith Explained Today
God wants to reveal himself to you. God has a plan for you. You were born for a purpose. When you study religion, you discover the way
God chose to reveal himself. You study
God’s plan for mankind. As you come to
understand God’s plan for the whole of creation, you come to understand your
place in that plan. As you learn how God
began to reveal himself to man long ago, you come to understand how God wants
to reveal himself to you now.
This book will help you study what God revealed through
Jesus Christ, as the Church has believed it, preserved it and treasured it from
the beginning. It is an attempt to
explain what the Church has been teaching for the last 2000 years.
“I can think of no one who would be happier with this update
to Father Leo Trese’s classic work, The
Faith Explained, than Father Trese himself.
This new book shows how the Church is facing the challenges of today’s
culture with truths that are ‘ever ancient, ever new”. In our time, the Catechism and papal teaching
have taught in powerful ways what it means to be human as vibrant living and
not just biological existence. The
Catholic Church has a duty to remind the world of this rich wisdom and Father Babendreier has done that very
well indeed.”
Fr. George William Rutler,
Priest of the Archdiocese of New York City,
